It's never easy to write about yourself or your friend...So we have tried to be as simple as possible , giving you a few littles words about our members , hoping you'll know a little better these strange guys...Don't hesitate to write us if you want share some words with the tribe.

JOHN

John Suttles is a native to Southwest Missouri, and is retired, and able to devote a large amount of energy to his favorite craft - flutemaking. He started making river cane flutes, and moved on to make wood flutes. He has much experience in making the 1 piece bored and turned flute. He also makes branch flutes, 2 piece, hand gouged. John likes to use "recovered" dead wood of the local region, as he feels a living tree or limb should not be killed to make a flute, rather bring a dead piece of wood back to like as a flute, thus restoring the spirit of the piece of wood. John is of "mixed blood" part white, part Cherokee, and ir proud and respects the heritage he receives from his early settler, and native American ancestors. He comes from a long line of hand crafters. He has exceptional skill at tuning flutes of many configurations, and does much prototyping of flute designs, both for himself and others, when requested. He is often refered to as "Ozarkguru" among the flute community.

HAROLD

Harold Ruckman is a native of Southwest Missouri, and devotes much energy to crafts of the native Americans. He is of "mixed blood", white and Lakota. Harold has had much sucess with all types of flutes, leatherworking, drums, pipemaking, using authentic sacred catlinite stone, and flintknapping. He also has an artistic skill which has lead him into reproduction rockcarvings of the ancient pictographs. Harold has hosted sucessful flutemaking seminars in various locations.

AMOS

Amos Fleetwood is a native of Southwest Missouri, and is able to devote nearly full time effort into his favorite crafts, walking staffs, staff flutes and branch flutes. He also has had much success making drums, steel knives and flintknapped stone blades, and knives. He has exceptional skill in wood laminations and finishing. Amos likes to use woods of all regions, to provide flutes and staffs of woods familiar to his customers. He also likes to incorporate crystals of local origion into his work, as requested.

DALE

Dale Robertson was raised in France and Polynesia by a French/Czech mother and Black/White/Indian father from West Indies...He's what you can call a full mixed blood...He has spent its early years in drawing painting, and tattooing , following his passion for "primitive art". He had learned to work wood too, as well as bone or mother of pearl during the years he spent in Bora Bora, making sculpture, carvings, jewelry and several exhibitions. He felt in love with flutes one day , finding the perfect way to express several art forms when making, as well as your heart ans spirit when playing. Now his only goal is to work as good as possible , during each steps, making unique instruments from branchs , with a true respect for everything...Thus working only by hand , from bore carving to shaping and holes making. He's happy like a child when he succeed to obtain a perfect , one of a kind sounding flute. He likes to add drawings and woodburnings to the flute, giving it life and soul, with old symbols from native americans , and all around the world tribal cultures.

DANUWA
Danuwa analihi Adonvdo (Cherokee for Spirit Warrior) Richard is his adopted name. He was born in Washington DC. Danuwa is mixed blood, Enos & white. He is a native flute artist, He has just become a Fallen branch brother and is now a proud part of the Fallen Branch Tribe. Danuwa is now making Fallen Branch Flutes. Danuwa loves working with branches & nature. All credit goes to Grandfather (Creator) for all the music he plays and the flutes he makes. He walks the red road and is an instrument for the Creator.
