These flutes are made much the same way as the branch flutes. They have been split open to allow for a wooden plug to be inserted between the slowing and sound chamber. Some have had a nipple added for a side blown configuration. They all have a distinctive bold mellow haunting voice. They are lightweight, yet sturdy for any way they may be handled.
